What is the difference between Structure Core and Structure Sensor Pro?
Structure Sensor Pro is built on the same underlying platform as Structure Core. Specifically, it adds support for iOS devices and the Structure SDK for iOS.
Structure Core and Structure Sensor Pro are built for different purposes.
Structure Sensor Pro is designed to be used on iOS products with a robust Structure SDK and many applications backing it. The Mark II and related Structure SDK is specifically designed for scanning purposes giving the developer very high-level functionality.
Structure Core is built for embedded solutions such as robotics, AR/VR, and autonomous drones. Structure Core is designed with computer vision experts in mind who are looking to unlock the raw potential of a sensor. The software development kit that is included with the Structure Core is focused on raw depth data and does not include high-level functionality, like 3d object scanning.
While we have updated our Skanect 3D scanning software to work with Structure Core, it must be tethered to the computer using a USB-C cable.
