Original Structure Sensor Will Not Connect with to Scanner - Structure SDK (sample app) version 3.10

On September 16th, 2024, Scanner - Structure SDK (sample app) app was updated to support Structure Sensor 3. The app now supports the entire range of Structure Sensors.

A software change was required to continue supporting original Structure Sensor while also enabling us to support the newer sensor, Structure Sensor 3. 

For now, original Structure Sensor users must enable their sensor in the settings prior to launching the app. If your iPad does not have this mode turned on, it will not recognize the original Structure Sensor.

Here is how to turn on the compatibility mode for the original Structure Sensor:

1. If currently in use, close/kill Scanner app completely (Do not background it) 
2. Ensure your original Structure Sensor is disconnected.

3. On your iPad, go to Settings.

   

   
   

4. Scroll down to the app Scanner or type the word “Scanner” in the search bar.

   

5. In the details panel, You’ll see an option Called ‘Enable Original Structure Sensor Compatibility Mode’ at the bottom of the screen. Turn this on.

   

   
   
6. Close Settings and Reopen the Scanner app

7. Connect original Structure Sensor

   
   

You should now be able to use your original Structure Sensor. If this is not the case, please email support@structure.io, detailing what you have tried and including any screenshots you think would be helpful.
