Can I use Structure Sensor Pro for scanning plants?
Scanning plants for recording and categorizing may be an appealing use case for botanists, but unfortunately, we do not recommend using our sensors for plant scanning.
Generally speaking, the leaves of plants are too fine to be captured by our sensors, and the flatness in most flora does not lead to a good three-dimensional capture.
Take this attempted scan of an orchid, for example:

As one can see, the distinctive qualities of the orchid are lost.
Generally speaking, the smallest object that can be scanned is the size of a grapefruit; nonetheless, finer details can still be captured.
Plant leaves, however, are too fine to capture with the general level of precision desired.
